A Certain Evening Light, the definitive collection from Trembling Blue Stars, arriving today on CD (ER-1075) and digital platforms. Compiled from limited-edition seven-inch singles, rare B-sides and alternative versions spanning the band’s 1996–2003 career, this 17-track anthology traces Bobby Wratten’s evolution as one of British pop’s most poignant songwriters. Highlights include the previously unreleased holiday tune “Christmas & Train Trips & Things,” alongside landmark singles “Abba on the Jukebox,” “Dark Eyes” and “Ghost of an Unkissed Kiss.” Recorded at Mitcham’s home studio and prominent London facilities with longtime collaborator Ian Catt, the collection features contributions from key collaborators such as Keris Howard, Beth Arzy and Harvey Williams. A Certain Evening Light offers both a nostalgic retrospective for longtime fans and an accessible entry point for new listeners. To celebrate the release, Bobby and Beth will perform an exclusive acoustic showcase at Discos Revolver in Barcelona on April 20 and at La [2] de Apolo in Madrid on April 22, featuring stripped-down renditions of TBS classics. Early press acclaim includes Rockdelux’s designation as “Essential Reissue” and Mondosonoro’s selection as “New Releases of the Week.”
