Murray Decock is an accomplished composer, songwriter and instrumentalist who successfully writes in a variety of musical styles including -but not limited to- pop, rock, country, folk, americana, blues and r&b. In his film and TV work he has written both vocal and instrumental music for specific scenes as requested. Murray recently scored the music for a documentary, “The Other Side of Edinburgh” that is being submitted to 2024 film festivals across the world. In this film he was also able to contribute original music in a variety of styles, including contemporary Celtic and Gaelic idioms. Murray also recently contributed two epic songs to an Australian film (Breakaway Femmes: 2024) that documents the return of women into the 2022 Tour de France cycling race. Murray’s versatility in composition and song-writing is equally complemented by his versatility as an instrumentalist and performer. A classically trained pianist with a doctorate in piano performance, he has opened for Aretha Franklin AND played the organ in St. Peter’s Basilica for an audience with Pope John Paul II.
