Hailing from Louisiana, Carbon Poppies are back to set hearts racing with their latest single, “Rain On My Face,” released through Elefant Records. Composed of Allison Bohl, Jonny Campos, and Peter DeHart, this dynamic trio masterfully fuses the luminous, elegant pop of the sixties with the raw, garage edge of The Bats and The Clean, all while embracing the melodic charm of Lovin’ Spoonful and a touch of psych-folk reminiscent of Woods. Carbon Poppies continue to prove that indie pop, when delivered with class and personality, is alive and kicking. Get ready to be swept away by pure pop energy!

Achievements and awards

Their latest release, “Rain On My Face,” is a special reinterpretation of a rare 1966 single by Shape & Sizes, delivered with majestic choruses and evocative reverbs reminiscent of The Clientele and The School. Tracks like “You And I” inject a burst of power-pop energy, while “How Long” serves up high-octane indie-pop with infectious hooks and a production that commands attention. Adding to their accolades, member Jonny Campos boasts a Grammy from his work with Lost Bayou Ramblers—a clear testament to the band’s creative prowess. With their innovative blend of garage, folk, and pop influences, Carbon Poppies continue to redefine indie-pop, lighting up the scene with a sound that is as timeless as it is daring.

Artist Bio.

CARBON POPPIES, a trio from Louisiana formed by Allison Bohl, Jonny Campos and Peter DeHart. In addition to forming part of other musical projects (BRASS BED, LOST BAYOU RAMBLERS and KIND COUSIN), CARBON POPPIES self-released a 6-song, 12″ vinyl EP in 2012 that was full of luminous pop leaning toward an sharp but precious sixties sound, with a touch of the garage of THE BATS or THE CLEAN, the taste for melodies of LOVIN’ SPOONFUL and the lysergic folk touch of WOODS.
