Details Press Release.

It feels strange every time we announce a new project from Joe Moore. His musical versatility, combined with his prolific and tireless spirit, leaves us running out of adjectives to describe his wonderful songs, which span such diverse musical styles. **SUNLIT** is his project dedicated to shoegaze and dream pop, and *“Break My Heart”* is the first glimpse of his self-titled debut album, which we will be sharing with you soon. This single is the perfect introduction to this new endeavor: ethereal guitars, the spirit of Bobby Wratten hovering in the background, crystalline melodies, high-voltage melancholy, and raw, heartfelt emotion. For this occasion, Chris Croft—who has directed videos for **THE SCHOOL**, **THE YEARNING**, **THE SILVER FACTORY**, **THE PRIMITIVES**, **BMX BANDITS**, **ATTIC LIGHTS**, **Nick Garrie**, **THE MAGIC THEATRE**, and **Cristina Quesada**—has created a video set by the sea at sunset. It’s an expressionist piece that seeks to convey the sadness, pleasure, melancholy, and beauty that Joe Moore’s new project also aims to evoke. And just wait until you hear the album. Brace your hearts—the impact will be profound.

Achievements and awards

The prolific producer and musician Joe Moore takes a bold step forward with his new project, **Sunlit**, a debut album that navigates the realms of dream pop, shoegaze, and folk-pop with a touch of crooner style. After a decade of exploring various genres and collaborating with artists like Lia Pamina, Maddie Mae, and Julie Big, Moore embarks on a more personal musical journey, taking on vocal duties for the first time. Far from the exuberance of his previous projects, **Sunlit** is marked by its stripped-down arrangements, creating an intimate and melancholic atmosphere reminiscent of artists such as Richard Hawley, Mazzy Star, and Cocteau Twins. Reverberating guitars, deep basslines, and subtle drums serve as the perfect canvas for Moore’s sweet and wistful melodies, which delve into themes of love, loss, nostalgia, and the quest for beauty in sadness.

Artist Bio.

The sheer volume and diversity of albums Joe Moore has released and produced since 2011 is extraordinary. He began with “Jukebox Romance” (2012) by THE YEARNING, crafting delicate, intricate chamber pop reminiscent of the girl vocal groups of the 1950s. Since then, Moore has explored a wide range of styles: he worked with Lia Pamina, produced R’n’B and electronic pop for Maddie Mae, and co-wrote 1980s-inspired Italo disco and Europop tracks with Cristina Quesada. He also collaborated with Julie Big (former vocalist of LE SUPERHOMARD) on the JULIE ET JOE project, a heartfelt tribute to 1980s French pop (drawing on influences like ELLI ET JACNO, LIO**, and MIKADO). Under the name THE PERFECT KISS, he delved into electronic pop with Holly Vanags, and with Luci Ashbourne, he paid homage to ABBA, disco, and 1970s pop in the last THE YEARNING album, released in 2020.
