My name is Alexander Wojtowski, I was born in the Ukrainian city of Odessa in 1998. Music has surrounded me since childhood, when my dad and I listened to Space and Queen on a Japanese cassette audio system. And at the age of 9, I asked my mother to take me to music school, I chose a classical guitar class, with piano as an additional instrument, which I graduated from in the year2012. The interesting thing is that although I liked classical guitarists like Matteo Carcassi and Francisco Tárrega, I had no general interest in classical music. And so, it was until 2015, when I heard Beethoven’s 23rdsonata, in which I seemed to find all the features that I needed from music, I was so impressed that I returned to the piano, but I had to start almost from scratch. After three years of diligent study, I began to write my own music, themes from that time can be heard in my piece “Wiener Impromptu”, of course, it is not as impressive as my more mature works, but it is certainly an interesting addition to my repertoire. Having seen that in Ukraine only music in the genres of pop and hip-hop receives commercial development, I thought about moving to another country, I always liked the German language and between the excessively fast-living Germany and the prohibitively expensive Switzerland, I chose a compromise-Austria. My plan came true in 2021.For a long time I could not find interested people for this genre, until I met a street trumpeter from Poland named Kamil, I approached, took the number, sent him my musical sketches, which he highly appreciated and agreed to work together on the project, drummer Ferdin and appeared in our ensemble thanks to my early acquaintance, when I first arrived in Vienna, this is how the foundation was laid for “die Loge”(«The Lodge»in English)and the debut album“Sandalen film”. This album turned out to be a real mixture in which I combined all my inspirations, from the Doors to FranzLiszt, although now I try to write songs strictly in one style, the debut album is a very original and interesting creation, worthy of attention. Sandalen film was followed by my opus of one old (the aforementioned «Wiener Impromptu») and three new solo works. Unfortunately, at the moment Kamil has left the project, but I am already working on new, exciting works “Nil” and “Vintage Love” with a new member of the band, saxophonist Sombor from Hungary, with whom I think I will reach the peak of my creativity.
