Details Press Release.

If there’s a band that embodies the unapologetic, defiant rebellion of today’s most irreverent youth, it’s AXOLOTES MEXICANOS. Masters of chaos, they seamlessly blend J-Pop, manga, Marvel, punk mayhem, and Hammer horror into a barrage of instant, undeniable anthems. Their sound is a wild ride—jumping from relentless bass drums to blistering guitars, fractured electronic beats to pristine, sing-along melodies—always laced with a sharp, often aggressive sense of humor. A true generational soundtrack, they’ve inspired countless new bands while dominating stages with explosive live shows. Their setlists are packed with cult hits like *Disparo De Amor*, *Doble Check*, *Cara De Idiota*, and *Que Te Pires*, along with their much-talked-about take on *Renai Circulation*, a favorite among anime fans.

Achievements and awards

It feels like just yesterday that Olaya, Juan, Lucas, Stephen, and Mario came together to form Axolotes Mexicanos. But more than a decade has passed, during which they’ve toured Spain and beyond, released singles, EPs, and albums, and cemented themselves as a staple of the Spanish music scene. Now, they return with *4ever*, their fourth studio album—self-recorded and self-produced, just the way they like it. It’s their most mature work yet, effortlessly blending genres without labels or restrictions. From the bossa nova vibes of *Al Atardecer* to the J-pop energy of *Plaza del Sol*, and the darker rock tones of *Rosas y Espinas*, *4ever* is a bold, eclectic mix. Following its release and a tour in Mexico, we sat down with Olaya to talk nostalgia, precariousness, Japanese culture, and what’s next for the band.

Artist Bio.

Axolotes Mexicanos is a band original from Asturias. Olaya and Stephen met in the school and decided to start a band. They completed their new group with Juan, Olaya’s twin brother. Today the group is based in Madrid and Lucas (Confeti de Odio) and Mario (Carolina Durante, Temerario Mario) joined to them. Their sound goes from crazy punk to the most playful, demo-friendly electro-pop with energy, muscle, strength and a lot of ferocity. As gleeful and childlike as the music seems, the lyrics are decidedly less than innocent, with subject matter including revenge fantasies, relationships with extraterrestrials, and bitter loneliness.
