Darren Day is an up and coming pop musician from the West-Coast of Canada. Since his debut in 2019, he’s won over fans with his heartfelt lyrics and catchy melodies telling real life stories of love, adversity, triumph, and pain. His background as a professional golfer prepared him with a work ethic needed to excel in the music industry along with his knack for songwriting learned through long stints of travelling tournament to tournament. Ultimately, Darren’s first passion, golf, was put on the back burner after his debut single “Coachella” found quick success in his home town of Victoria BC Canada. Drawing a sold out crowd for his first performance, Darren knew he’d found his true calling and it’s been full steam ahead since. Although most songs start on acoustic guitar, Darren enjoys experimenting in all genres while working along side his producer Steve Kroeger. His most recent album “All Over The Map” is a testament to that, pushing the boundaries of pop music in a way that’s still cohesive and polished. He prides himself on being honest in his lyrics and bold in his production with the live show being the driving force in every creative decision made. You’d be hard pressed to have a conversation with Darren where his family doesn’t come up. He shares a name with his dad, Darren, who played in a band out of High School where we met his wife Leanne. He’s the middle child between two sisters, Whitney and Megan, who are both musically inclined as well performing in local theatre productions and on social media where Megan is a Twitch Streamer. The Day household is full of ambition probably stemming from Darren Sr’s success as a locally famous real estate agent. Emerging out of his dads shadow is a big motivator for Darren and can be felt through his persistence and never give up mentality he’s put on full display thus far in his career. Love him or not completely sold yet, there’s no denying Darren Day’s gusto as he continues to pave his own path in music. His overall message as an artist is a reminder to work your butt off but don’t forget to stop and smell the roses. Life is short so spend it with the people you love while doing what you love, and never be afraid to day dream.
