High Park Society is an independent studio music project masterminded by Canadian multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and acoustician Frank Babic. He is also a member of SOCAN. Contagious hooks, honest vocals and thought-provoking, often romantic lyrics mark Frank’s work. High Park Society’s music evokes nostalgia for new wave, jazz and ‘80s and ‘90s melodic alternative rock and pop. The artist’s energy, attention to detail and passion for creating memorable, ear-pleasing instrumental textures shines through High Park Society’s complex tracks, which resonate with layers of melody, harmony, bass groove and danceable rhythms. The vivid, retro recordings of High Park Society are often collaborative endeavors between Frank Babic and a revolving of talented guest musicians from around the world, which gives arrangements a fresh feel. Everysong plays with powerful themes that illuminate the sunny side of love, self exploration and the surprise twists that mark life’s long journey. As he pursued professional work as an acoustic engineer, Frank picked up with several local bands as a lead guitarist and songwriter. His drive to play music led him to pursue a career as a professional engineer in acoustics, noise and vibration engineering, where he has remained for almost 30 years, and continues to practice engineering. It was his professional career that also brought him back to the excitement of the recording studio where High Park Society was born, out of his desire to create classic rock and ‘80s alternative with a twist. Frank has also used this project to connect through the power of technology with other songwriters, musicians and artists from around the globe who regularly contribute to his recordings. Based in Mississauga, Ontario CANADA, High Park Society has released four previous singles: “70s Child” and “Home for Christmas”. Frank has released his first EP titled “I Can’t Believe You’re Being So Nice To Me” available on all streaming platforms.
