November 15, 2001 – Barcelona, Spain. Introducing the release of 1968, the debut album by melodic pop duo Me Enveneno de Azules. Brothers Jesús García García (bass and vocals) and Jose García García (guitar and vocals) formed the group in late 1998 after years performing with Antonio Galvañ. Their sound unites crystalline guitar arpeggios and lush vocal harmonies born from sixties pop, bossa nova and indie folk influences. A demo that reached Elefant led to their live debut on May 22, 1999 at Madrid’s Sala Maravillas. In July 1999 they released their first single, Imágenes, which won acclaim from Rockdelux and appeared on the American Moshi Moshi compilation. The follow-up single, Vidas paralelas, recorded at Murcia’s Guindilla Studios, was unveiled at Fnac showcases in Madrid and Alicante. They have already built a devoted following through energetic live performances across Spain. Produced by Carlos Hernández and the duo, with artwork by Gregorio Soria, 1968 features early favorites like Imágenes, Como soy and new tracks including Birdy and Es fiel. The album will be supported by performances at the Lemon Pop Festival in Murcia and Zaragoza’s Superfly, where the expanded lineup with Jose Piqueras and Gustavo Roses will debut.
