Details Press Release.

April 30, 2025 – Sheffield, England. Elefant Records proudly unveils Nature Set’s debut EP, the spring 2025 installment of its New Adventures in Pop series. Fronted by Reenie Hollis (bass, vocals) of The Long Blondes alongside punk stalwarts Daf (guitar, vocals), Marie (drums, vocals) and Claire (synthesizer, vocals), Nature Set recorded at 2fly studios with producer Alan Smyth, renowned for shaping Pulp and Arctic Monkeys. The EP opens with the title track “Enough Is Enough,” a surge of jagged guitar and frenetic energy channeling the early spirit of the Ramones and Kaiser Chiefs. “You or Nobody” follows with sparkling synth hooks and anthemic group vocals, then “At Least Not Today” brightens the mood with an addictive melody and relentless punk-pop pulse, recalling Blondie and Echobelly. The closing cut “The Engineer” ventures into shadowy post-punk, maintaining the EP’s relentless drive. Featuring collaborative songwriting and shared vocal duties, Nature Set exemplifies their “songwrite by committee and pass the mic” ethos. The EP will be released on digital platforms and limited-edition vinyl on May 15, followed by a launch performance at Sheffield’s Leadmill on May 22.

Achievements and awards

Nature Set emerged when Reenie Hollis, bassist and vocalist of The Long Blondes, joined forces in early 2025 with punk luminaries Daf, Marie and Claire—graduates of Sheffield’s underground Navvy collective—to forge a new anarchic punk-pop quartet. Conceived under Elefant Records’ New Adventures in Pop banner, Nature Set channels the unbridled festivity of The B-52’s through a gritty, razor-sharp lens. Recorded at Alan Smyth’s 2fly studios—renowned for defining the sounds of Pulp, Arctic Monkeys and Richard Hawley—their debut EP crackles with raw urgency. The title track “Enough Is Enough” surges forward on spiky guitar riffs and youthful abandon evoking early Kaiser Chiefs and the Ramones. “You or Nobody” pivots to a radiant post-punk groove anchored by wonderful gang vocals, while “At Least Not Today” melds hyper-addictive melodies with knee-jerk synth lines and a punk-pop attitude reminiscent of Echobelly, Blondie and Rocket from the California coast. The closing cut “The Engineer” plunges into darker post-punk textures without sacrificing the EP’s infectious momentum. Driven by a “songwrite by committee and pass the mic” philosophy, Nature Set builds an exhilarating collective spirit that resonates far beyond local stages. They have already begun captivating audiences.

Artist Bio.

Nature Set is a Sheffield-based punk-pop quartet formed in early 2025 by Reenie Hollis (bass and vocals), formerly of The Long Blondes, alongside Daf (guitar, vocals), Marie (drums, vocals) and Claire (synthesizer, vocals), alumni of the Navvy collective. United by a shared love of B-52’s-style celebration and an irreverent punk attitude, the band combines scratchy guitars with pulsing synthesizer lines and distorted vocals to forge anthems of communal defiance. Their self-titled debut EP, released in spring 2025 via Elefant Records’ New Adventures in Pop series, was captured at Alan Smyth’s 2fly studios and features four tracks—“Enough Is Enough,” “You or Nobody,” “At Least Not Today” and “The Engineer”—that span raucous punk-pop and shadowy post-punk textures. Driven by a “to songwrite by committee and pass the mic” philosophy, Nature Set channels collective creativity into raw, danceable immediacy. It exemplifies songwriting by committee and mic-sharing ethos joyously.
