Details Press Release.

Madrid, April 2025 — Spain’s most effervescent pop collective, Cola Jet Set, proudly announces the release of their debut album Contando Historias. Produced by La Casa Azul’s Guille Milkyway, the record fuses surf‑pop spark, disco basslines, punk energy, and bubblegum sweetness into a seamless celebration of melody and rhythm. Featuring the smash single “Quiéreme” and a sun‑drenched cover of The Groove’s “Love Is Getting Better” (retitled “El Amor Mejora”), the album nods to pop’s golden eras while pushing forward with youthful exuberance. Fresh from a triumphant festival circuit—including Lemon Pop Murcia and Easy Pop Weekend—Cola Jet Set will kick off a national tour this May, bringing their jubilant live show to clubs and open‑air stages alike. With unanimous critical acclaim and a growing legion of fans, Contando Historias is poised to become the definitive Spanish pop record of the season.

Achievements and awards

When Cola Jet Set formed in late 1999—just as Los Fresones Rebeldes bowed out—they picked up the torch of Spain’s sunniest, most unselfconscious pop. Founders Felipe (guitar) and Aarón (bass) recruited Ana (lead vocals, keys) within two months, and by 2002 their demo tracks “Cosas Que No Se Olvidan” and “Quiéreme” were hailed as Demo of the Year by national radio, sparking clamors for an official release. That spring they headlined RNE‑3’s Flor de Pasión showcase in Madrid—days before Felipe and Ana’s wedding—earning ecstatic reviews alongside Niza and Souvenir. Their self‑released debut single (“Cosas Que No Se Olvidan” / “Canción de Luna” / “Acabar Bonito”), produced by Guille Milkyway, sold out its initial run, while a summer festival tour—including Lemon Pop and Lemon Pop Murcia—further cemented their reputation for irresistible, dance‑floor–ready melodies. In 2004, Cola Jet Set elevated their craft on Contando Historias, a debut LP that welded surf guitars, disco grooves, punk punch, and Motown flair into an exhilarating pop cocktail. Lead single “Quiéreme” became a radio staple and its video won Best Clip at Málaga’s IV Short Film Competition. Press outlets from Alta Fidelidad to Surfer Rosa placed the album among the year’s finest, and packed festival appearances (Easy Pop Weekend, Plastidepop) confirmed their status as Spain’s new benchmark for upbeat, endlessly optimistic pop.

Artist Bio.

Cola Jet Set emerged in 1999 from the ashes of Los Fresones Rebeldes, led by songwriters Felipe (guitar) and Aarón (bass) alongside vocalist/keyboardist Ana. Joined by a revolving cast of Zaragoza and Barcelona veterans, they honed a style blending surf guitars, disco rhythms, punk verve, and irresistible pop hooks. Their breakout demos became Demo of the Year in 2002, and their debut album Contando Historias (2004) earned widespread praise and festival sell‑outs, establishing them as Spain’s premier ambassadors of optimistic, no‑frills pop.
