Diya is a 14-year-old singer-songwriter from UK, whose passion for music has been evident since a young age. Beginning her musical journey as a Western classical singer at the age of six, Diya has since explored various genres, ultimately finding her voice in soul pop, chill house & dream pop Inspired by artists like Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo, she began writing her own songs, blending her classical training with contemporary influences. Diya has achieved distinction in all her singing and piano grades and is currently pursuing her Grade 6 ABRSM Classical Singing and Grade 6 ABRSM Piano, providing her with a strong foundation to develop as a pop artist. During the lockdown, Diya’s talent shone brightly when she won the global singing competition, “Take the Mic.” This victory granted her the opportunity to work with Australian producer James North, leading to the creation of her first single, “Bulletproof.” The song delves into themes of isolation and self-confidence, encouraging listeners to step out of their comfort zones and pursue their dreams. Diya’s journey continued to ascend as she recently collaborated with Grammy Award-winning producer Jimmy Napes, known for his work with Sam Smith and H.E.R. Together, they created the single “Blow the Blue Away,” a song about overcoming anxiety and finding support in the people around you. Through her music, Diya aims not only to share her own voice but to give others a platform to express themselves as well.
