Details Press Release.

Band À Part is Javi Román and Coral Rodríguez. Drawing inspiration from Godard’s Nouvelle Vague, Gainsbourg, J.D. Salinger, and the twee pop of Sarah Records, as well as Stereolab, Beach Boys, and The Love Generation, they picked up their guitars, melodicas, and xylophones to start composing in 2006. Restless and self-sufficient, they not only record their music in their own studio but also bring a strong visual identity to their work. From the graphic design of their singles to their self-directed and produced music videos, everything comes to life in their Laboratorio de Band À Part.

Achievements and awards

Una Persona Normal Con Gafas De Metal contents four songs with marvelous arrangements that remind us of Sambassadeur, Club 8 and Camera Obscura, mixing hope and melancholy. After a slow 2012 with only two songs (“Cascabel” and Donde Todo Sigue Igual) released the band is back in 2013 with La Aventura Original. A release that celebrates Band À Part’s best qualities: light, agile songs; high energy; so many influences that showcase their extensive musical culture; and intelligent, emotional lyrics.

Artist Bio.

Band À Part consists of Javi Román and Coral Rodríguez. Influenced by the Nouvelle Vague of Godard and Gainsbourg, but also by J. D. Salinger and the twee-pop of Sarah Records, and by Stereolab, The Beach Boys and The Love Generation. Their debut Single No Sé Por Qué is released in 2010. They show to be great successors to the Spanish pop from sixties, bands like Picnic and Formula V, but at the same time taking bands like Belle & Sebastian, La Casa Azul or Niza as references.
