The unique sound of CHAVALES is highly danceable electronic pop, yet elegant, skillfully blending past and contemporary sounds with daring, carefree, and witty lyrics. In “Empieza El Plan,” you can catch echoes of PET SHOP BOYS and the lyrical audacity of LOS PUNSETES. “Las Plantas De La Terraza” leans toward addictive modern commercial acts like Robyn or CHARLI XCX, as well as ultra-indie groups like TV GIRL, CLAUD, or BOY PABLO, while also leaving a hint of the finesse and charm of ORANGE JUICE’s more upbeat moments. This song is also the centerpiece of their first music video, directed by Diego Jiménez (AXOLOTES MEXICANOS, CAROLINA DURANTE, CARIÑO, LA BIEN QUERIDA, NEVVER...), where the protagonists are obsessively engrossed in the world of botany.

Achievements and awards

Playful, colorful, and delightfully quirky synthpop defines the fresh and radiant sound of Chavales, a duo capable of evoking the synth spirit of ’81 while also reminding us of a minimalist version of La Casa Azul, as seen in new anthems like *Dame Veneno.* Their sound is highly danceable electronic pop, but at the same time it is elegant, knowing how to perfectly mesh sounds of the past and the most current sounds, with daring, carefree, clever lyrics.

Artist Bio.

CHAVALES is a duo formed by Daniel Rodríguez from Mallorca and Javier Paredes from Extremadura. They met in Madrid after Daniel was working on his solo project (DANIEL DANIEL) and Javier had a big collection of lyrics written. That’s how, thanks to Martín Spangle’s (producer of the Mini-LP “Movidas” by Cariño) participation on technical controls, they were able to develop their songs. We can detect echoes of Pet Shop Boys and sometimes they move closer to some of today’s tremendously addictive commercial music like Robyn or Charli XCX or ultra-indie groups like TV Girl, Claud and boy pablo, but it also gives us a taste of the well-done elegance of the peppiest Orange Juice.
